The PrairieModern Project is a new single-family home and studio to be located along the Milwaukee River in Mequon, Wisconsin. As the primary residence of the architect, the design and construction of the house will act as a laboratory in investigating the factors that will shape the future of the American home. Residential design will be undergoing significant changes over the upcoming decade responding to issues such as modular design, resource-efficient and environmentally responsible construction, healthy living environments, as well as the incorporation of green and information technologies.

RIVER ROAD

The new home, studio and its surroundings now commonly referred to as River Road, has been designed to enhance and support the study of ‘Pure Design’ including architecture, art, music and landscape design for its inhabitants. Located along the east bank of the Milwaukee River in Mequon, Wisconsin, the complex is the latest design of the architect’s Prairie Modern approach, bringing together his theory of architecture coupled with current means and methods of construction to create a truly unique and personal expression of modern architecture.
